Picket

These iron fences are constructed more like picket fences but they have an extra feature and that is they have an additional horizontal rod at the top instead of sharp edges. Smooth rail iron fences will be usually found with decorative scroll work on top as this is a very commonly demanded design of it.
Hairpin
Hairpin is a very historical styles of iron fences which are not commonly seen these. However, even now there are certain places where such iron fence is found. These fences can be found in historical areas or at homes owned by those who love to be related with history and olden times. Instead of having sharp edges on top hairpin iron fences have curved edges connecting two pickets together. Each and every picket is made from metal rod and the top curved edge is made by heating them.
